Mandela Washington Fellowship 2025 in the USA | Fully Funded

During the summer of 2025, the Mandela Washington Fellowship will bring up to 700 young leaders to the United States for an intensive, executive-style program designed to develop leadership skills and empower Fellows to take on key roles in their communities and industries. The selected Fellows will participate in a six-week Leadership Institute at a U.S. college or university, where they will engage with U.S. citizens and other African Fellows, exchanging experiences and learning from one another.

This fully-funded fellowship offers Fellows the opportunity to explore industries beyond their usual fields of work, broadening their expertise and enhancing their skills. Additionally, Fellows will have the chance to connect with U.S. government officials and prominent business leaders, gaining insights and forging new relationships that will further their professional development. After the program concludes, Fellows can join the global Alumni Network, which will serve as a valuable resource for finding innovative solutions to common challenges.

This leadership program is a transformative experience for participants, allowing them to build strong networks with both African and American peers. It will also help them renew their self-confidence and motivation to contribute to their communities. Fellows will study Business, Civic Engagement, or Public Management at U.S. institutions, expanding their knowledge and acquiring new concepts. The Mandela Washington Fellowship is committed to accessibility, fairness, equity, and inclusion, and does not discriminate against applicants based on any protected characteristic under U.S. law.
